Hi all,
In case you haven't been following Wood Shop, the SawStop table saw suffered a fail about two weeks ago. The blade wasn't staying true, and the handle that brings it up and down was turning without actually moving the blade.
Tim C. looked into it and found that the worm gear that controls the raising of the blade was worn down practically to the nubs. (I'm throwing some pics in for the interested)
He went ahead and used the zone box contributions (thank you to everyone who contributes!!) to order a new gear. It came in today, and, thanks to some excellent YouTube right to repair folks, got it installed and lubed.
The SawStop is officially back in service!
Big hand to Tim for volunteering several hours to get this working, Chorister for first reporting the problem, and everyone who contributed money to the Wood Shop zone box (or PayPal). You all rock!
Be excellent,
Jody Raiford
