Hi,

This is my first post, although I am a fan of itwofs website and a
regular visitor. In my opinion, the song Haan Tu Hai from the movie
Jannat has some serious inspirations from the song Ana Ayesh (I'm
Alive) by Amr Diab.

Pritam has a knack of cleverly disguising the off-tonality of middle-
eastern melody (off-tonality at least to a desi ear). In the song, the
first stanza (asthayee) is Pritam's own compostion i.e. "Jo khwabon
khiyalon mein, socha nahi tha ..." (and a very nice one!) But the next
stanza (antra) starting from "Haan tu Hai, haan tu hain ...." is a
copy of the Amr Diab song when he sings "Ana Ayesh ee mush ayesh ee
mush aader ala bodak...." (Starting from 1:05 of the youtube link).

Now the inspiration doesn't stop here as the next stanza (asthayee) of
Pritam's song has a different composition and (in my opinion) is
"inspired" from the Arm Diab song's stanza i.e. when the singer goes
"Koi bhi aisa lamha nahi hay, jiss mein meray tu hota nahi ... " is
inspired from Amr Diab stanzas (starting from 00:43 and 1:31 of the
youtube link). Now Pritam has eradicated the mid-eastern off-tonality
in this stanza but the compostion structure remains the same. (Or may
be I am just going cuckoo!).

Do let me know what do you think about it. Cheers.

By the way, here is the youtube link of the hindi song.

Thanks for reading.
