Well,
In addition to the inspired/copied "antra" of the song from Cat
Steven's wild world, the "asthayee" itself is also a recycled song of
Anu Malik's own(?) composition.
The song in question is "Yeh Khushi ki Mehfil" form the movie "Hum to
Mohabbat Karega". Ironically, "yeh khushi ki mehfil" song is also
mentioned in itwofs website as the starting part of the melody is
copied from a french song, Edith Piaf's "La vie en rose" (Ref: itwofs
> AnuMalik > No. 51).
Now Anu Malik used the other, non lifted, part of the song and
recycled it in the "Jo Gumshuda". hmmm, seems like Anu ji is learning
from Pritam's tactics of mixing n' matching two songs into one.
I wasn't able to find the song's link in youtube, but here is the
raaga.com link (Please click "Yeh Khushi ki mehfil")

Let me know what do you guys think about it.
Cheers,
Jamshid.
