received this as a reply to the post i made earlier today, since I had sent the mail to the yahoo/google groups I would like to reply to the same here, rather than personally.

Now onto my reply:
1. no one here in a moving encyclopedia to tell a song is a folk one or not. It is expected for other members to respond in a mature constructive manner, not something akin to anonymous teenage rant.

2. Talk about participation and contribution to the mailing lists, I doubt I have ever seen mr. jitesh2102122 making any constructive posts on the mailing lists for him to pass judgment on other member's music knowledge or Karthik's effort in running the site and the mailing lists.

unfortunately, the whole idea of an inspiration being an inspiration is totally lost upon you.A song, or a part of it sounding similar to another raises the valid questions of inspirations being involved, be it  folk or reinforced. A copy is a copy. It does not take rocket science to percienve aural similarities.
In fact it is you sir who is trying to be a smartass out here by trying to invoke false sense of superiority on having some knowledge of music. Does your suggestion imply that a piece of sampling similar in words and tunes be not regarded as a inspiration since it is a folk tune? or that you managed to identify the classical base of the same, hence its your devine duty to interfere in a thread passing judgements on the individuals, as well as all those who have been making meaningful contributions out here??

...or maybe, like it often happens out here ..a pretty sore case of fanboi-ism, pritam's this time?

But atleast one can try not to be a smarta$$. Not point in calling yourself 20 if you got brain of a 5 year old. The so called allegations have to be based on some sense and knowledge of music other than just been able to listen to it and spot a few things. And phulezzz don't make it sound like I said crap against karthik. He is doing a good job by running this website. I just questioned his ability to rely on posts made by people with 0 knowledge of music. Although I have mailed him a few times abt him being biased towards S. Indian musicians, he know deep down inside. But nevertheless, he has made talented musicians like pritam to explore their own talent rather than search for one.
