Hosting i2b2's database on cloud resources

Has anyone attempted to use any of the cloud data warehousing solutions as a backend for i2b2, such as Azure’s Synapse Analytics or Google’s BigQuery?  I am hoping to get some sense on the difficulty in modifying the data access layer and if anyone has already done so?  Most of these services support ansi standard sql, however i2b2 relies on a lot of the dialect specific features (at least for oracle).
