Hello,

 

Once again, we continued to study on "church mind".  We summarized two important verses regarding the "church mind"  from previous lesson on the "Dried Bones of the Churches, Part two".

 

it is an eternal impact for us to think how can I participate in a teamwork?

 

Hope you find this lesson to touch your inner soul and mind!

 

We also reviewed the numerous of the Deaf population. ( See July 26 Lesson).

 

Now we are looking at the verses finding in Luke 18: 18-25.

 

Story: A rich men came up to Jesus and asked ONE question, "Good Teacher, what shall I do inherit eternal?" We noticed two things about that question.  First: Good teacher

 

Jesus said, " Why do you call Me good. No one is good except God alone."    Okay, in a common sense , we could say that he is a good teacher, or a lousy teacher, or she is a bad girl or she is  a good girl. It is an emotion/feelings.  Now Jesus says that NO ONE is good.  what does that mean to you?

 

Jesus pointed to "eternal".   We all are sinners. God has no sin. We are lost.  Through the grace, we are saved and will inherit an eternal life.  Secondly, God does good ( and perfect) with HIS WORD. Jesus only speaks His Word on the behalf of his heavenly Father. It is same with us.  Through the Holy Spirit's help, We teach or preach the word of God on the behalf of our Father.   

 

Next thing: Jesus says about the commandments: A rich man replied " All the things  I have kept (obey) from my youth.  Jesus says to him, " Sell all that you have and give to the poor, You will have treasure in heaven and come follow me."

 

What was a rich man's reaction?   He become very sad because he was extremely rich. (verse 23)

 

So let's see how we apply to the sport world.

 

A Sport fan:  A fan would buy the ticket for the "football" game.  If he brings his child, he would also buy the ticket for him. The more he spend his money to buy some food, drink, T-shirt and pomp for his child. Of course, the cost of money spend fast!!   

 

 Second, a fan is ready to sit down and watch the game. But often he finds disturbing from other fans. His eyes went off from the game then he would miss an important part of playing

 

Third, if the game is lousy then the fan would know that the team is going to be lost the game. He may not stay for fourth quarter. He leaves the game for home. 

 

Fourth, a fan may know the player, his favorite. Imaging, he would walk to that player and yell " I know you!! You are awesome, man!". Then the player would be puzzled who is that fan because he never see him in all his life. He does not know a fan!

 

A Sport Teamwork:  A team work hard for all practices. They encourage and discuss a strategy. They kept strength and support each other. Why? they want to make the aim: win the Super Bowl Championship and get a GOLD ring! Of course, they make the money!  

 

That is two different groups!   Now we do have two different Jesus' groups!!!!

 

Jesus' Fan:  A fan goes to the church every Sunday. He gave his tithes to the offering plates. He brings his child.  He study how good preacher is. If the preacher is lousy or even the church program is a bad inspiration.  Then he would left.  He would look for another church to inspirit him. Better preacher, better program, or even better food! 

 

Secondly, a fan would get off the road from walking with Christ. Once he is sorry and will be back on. Or he does not pray every day or is too busy with other things .His eyes are taking off from the Lord.  It is very disturbing for him.

 

Jesus' teamwork:  The teamwork work toward the goals together. They can make some ideas to make the church growing. They would be care if the church member is absent for two Sunday then they would check with the member. They serve all togther, pray together and praise God together. If the program is not good then they can fix the problem and enhance it better. 

 

See, Jesus says, " You will have a treasure in heaven."  Then come to join his team.   What is a treasure?

It is more likely  your rewards and your righteousness crown.  it is just like the sport team kept working hard  until they make the championship and get the gold ring!

 

At last, with Jesus' fan:   Jesus says" the people will come to me and claim that they know me. But i tell you a truth.. if he does, I would not know him."    Many fans knows Jesus but do not a personal relationship with Jesus then he would not be on His team.    A rich man was a fan. He did not give all his things away and did not be on Jesus' team.

 

So with the church mind, be on teamwork. Not a FAN!

 

It would be a nice to have a T-ishirt saying on the front. " I am not a fan of Jesus!, Look back:

" I am on Jesus' teamwork!

 

Get involve in the Kingdom of God (verse 23-25). 

 

Pray:

 

1. Improving your prayer life!

 

2.  Ron and Betty got back. He will teach " the Spirit of Fruit" this coming Sunday, August 12th.  I will be out of town. 

 

3.  Pray for the I270 DCF!!!
