Making groups in I Simpa

Hi All,

I want to perform acoustic analysis of building having HVAC ducts and Fans. I have number of 3D meshed model (in .stl) format and want to import the same in I Simpa having one surface group for each model. Please suggest me the method of doing same.

Also, I am new to acoustic filed. Can u guys please advice me any reference so that i can have basic understanding of technical terms like RT, EDT and other critical results which i should used to elaborate post processing my model.

Hi,

When you import a 3D model in I-Simpa you replace the currently loaded 3d model. So you have to use an external editor to manage your 3D model. This editor is nice for doing so:


You can automatically re-associate groups if there are on the same location using the I-Simpa checkbox "Keep existing groups"

Stl format can not handle layers. However 3ds formats do.

I don't have any useful links for acoustics basics.
