YES (Youth Empowered in the Struggle, the youth arm of Voces de la Frontera) has issued a student bill of rights. This Thursday they are holding a rally at Hamilton High School and then will be presenting their bill of rights to the MPS School Board. They would love to have teachers, parents, and community members come out to support them. Here is the message with more details from their Youth Organizer:
"This Thursday (March 22) we are rallying at Hamilton High School at 4:00 pm and then heading to the 5:30 School Board hearing (at Central Office) to testify on behalf of this student-led effort to combat the attacks on public education. We need your help and support to get the word out among teachers, parents, and students.
This is a great civic engagement opportunity for your classes, and a moment for your students to get involved in the struggle with other youth.

Bus Schedule
Buses will be picking up on Thursday at 3:30 at ALAS, Carmen, Ronald Reagan, and South Division. If you have students that need transportation, please call me at

Really looking forward to seeing our students shine & the fruition of their months of work on the Student Bill of Rights.
Si se puede!
