Dear Milwaukee Public School Parent,
You are invited to join a new, nationwide effort to support public education in Milwaukee. As parents who have been organizing under the name "I Love My Public School," we are launching the first Parents for Public Schools chapter in Wisconsin.
Parents for Public Schools (http://www.parents4publicschools.org/) is a national nonprofit with more than 20 years experience helping parents to organize and advocate for public schools. They currently have chapters in 11 states: from California and Ohio to Mississippi and Michigan.
Would you like to be involved in creating the first PPS chapter in Wisconsin? A PPS-Milwaukee chapter must be inclusive and represent the full range of MPS parents, and we need your help to reach out to other parents to make sure that our district-wide network reflects the diversity of parents and schools in MPS. Please forward this email and spread the word to other MPS parents!
Please come to an informational meeting to learn more about PPS-Milwaukee and discuss what you think are the biggest challenges for our district.
Saturday, December 10, from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Community Room of the Washington Park Public Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd. (http://www.mpl.org/file/branch_washington.htm)
MPS parents from across the district are welcome for the PPS-Milwaukee launch meeting to discuss what we can do and want to see done for our kids, and talk about how each of us can contribute. This means we need parents from every corner of MPS. We can make every school better working together. Children are welcome and will be fed and supervised. Please RSVP (so we make sure to have enough space, food, and childcare) to Angie angelam...@gmail.com or call 414 793 4815
The ILMPS network will continue to expand online at www.ilovemypublicschool.com. Contact Sachin at sac...@ilovemypublicschool.com or 414 412 6099 for more information.
