Brother Ali Interview, new member to the i-appreciate.org Team, and Toy Drive...

Greetings everyone...

I hope that those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving and/or Eid had an enjoyable and safe time!

Just wanted to make some announcements about what's going on with i-appreciate.org.

1)  As some of you may know, I had the opportunity to sit down with Brother Ali (of Rhymesayers Entertainment) and do an interview with him.  The interview is now up (http://www.i-appreciate.org/home.html) and is about 40 minutes long.  In my opinion, I think that this interview is an incredible one.  He talks about 2 songs that he wrote, but more importantly, he discusses how he was abused by his wife during his first marriage.  I highly encourage each and every one of you to pass on this interview to ATLEAST 10 (with over 1,500 people in the FB group and mailing list, this could potentially be watched by atleast 15,000 people!).  I just think that the interview touched on some issues that my be able to help those who may currently be in an abusive relationship.

2)  We have been lucky to have a new addition to the i-appreciate.org Team.  Her name is Mary Schuler and she is currently finishing up her degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Public Communication & Culture Studies as well as Psychology.  She will be joining the organization as the Media and Outreach Coordinator, so we want to welcome her to the team.  If anyone is interested in being apart of i-appreciate.org, please feel free to contact me at alta...@i-appreciate.org.  We are always looking for individuals who are motivated and have special talents and skills to get involved.

3)  As many of you know, Christmas time is right around the corner. And as many of you may also know, children are often the victims of domestic violence.  With this in mind, we have decided to put together a toy drive from November 30 until December 11.  We will be collecting toys at U of M in Dearborn but if anyone in another location wants to donate toys, once again, feel free to contact me and we can arrange something.  The toys will be donated to the First Step Domestic Violence Shelter.
