Have you taken a look at

From this wiki page, you can learn about how to run the WordCount app
that ships with the Hyracks distribution. After you gain familiarity
with the WordCount app, you can make a copy of that app and start to
code your own.

As you start doing that, please ask any questions you might have on this
list.

It would also help for you to give a little summary about yourself and
what your goals are with using Hyracks.
