Is tag maintenance possible? Deleting, merging

I'd like to clean up my Hypothesis tags—merge some from mispellings or changes in usage of terms, deleting others that are not used as often as I had expected. I don't see a user interface for this, though...would I need to go into each annotation and make the changes manually?

Hello Peter,

The only UI we provide for editing tags currently is the Hypothesis client. If you go to "User menu => Open notebook" in the Hypothesis client you can access annotations from across multiple documents in one place.

For technically adept users, it is also possible to modify annotation tags via our API [1].

Hi Peter,

There exists a 3rd party tool that can allow you to rename tags. Just please be aware that using the tool incorrectly can lose some of your tag data, and that since this was made by a 3rd party we don't offer support on its use: https://jonudell.info/h/TagRename/.
