Can we make the edit preview look like the actual result.
The only conceivable reason for not allowing certain options is to make it more simple, but it only creates a headache and makes it less simple/intuitive when the preview doesn't look like the result.
This is less important but I also wish that ctrl+b and ctrl+i were used for formatting, because its usage of * means that you can't use those symbols for their own sake.
I expect that the answer would be that it's part of the "language" (an explanation I don't understand because I don't code), but surely it isn't something they couldn't easily fix through some means, given all that they can do?

Hi there,

Thanks for writing. To start, you can use ctlr+b and ctrl+i to bold and italicize text when editing it. I'm not sure if maybe you're using these in preview mode, but they'll work fine when you're actually editing text.

It sounds like you're asking for a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor. Hypothesis uses Markdown for the text in our annotations. I don't know whether or not that's possible with Markdown, but I'll record this as a feature request for our team in case it is.

If you have other questions or want to clarify anything please let me know.

Best,
Michael
