Hello,

I'm a developer with the internet literacy and privacy advocacy project Terms of Service; Didn't Read, https://tosdr.org/

We have a web application for annotating and crowd-sourcing analyses of terms of agreements here: https://edit.tosdr.org/ , and we're looking to integrate Hypothesis with the goal of replacing our current annotation functionality.

The way we see it, we have two options: 1) Integrate the Hypothesis client (in which case it would need to communicate with our API), 2) Integrate more at the database level, having the other parts of our application read or write in the database tables that Hypothesis creates.

Our goal is to pick a viable integration point between Hypothesis and our code. We don’t just want to annotate, we also want to peer-review these annotations, and aggregate all approved annotations into a machine-readable report. This peer-review process is carried out on https://edit.tosdr.org/

As a general matter, would this type of integration be possible? Has it been done before? Are we thinking about it correctly?

Would someone from the Hypothesis team be willing to discuss with us? We could set up a video call.

Thanks in advance,
Madeline
