Thanks, Milko!  I'll try to keep it up-to-date with the latest versions of Hadoop and fix any bugs that are reported, but it will be a side project for me.  Anyway, thanks for all of the feedback you offered over the years.  I'll still be around so don't hesitate to reach out.

This is disastrous!

This product deserves to survive and should do.

Won't Baidu buy you in/out as they are a large company

and user? Surely they are significantly invested.

I couldn't agree more!  Baidu has their own development team and (presumably) have their own fork of Hypertable.  Hypertable will continue to exist, but I won't be actively developing it.  I may pick it up again at some point down the road.

Hi Doug, very sad news. I hope that development does continue. If I can help the development in any way let me know, I would love to contribute to the project and keep it alive. 

Out of curiosity, are you going to be working on a new database project?
