Uninstalling Hyperspy in Windows can delete unrelated files in exceptional circumstances. This issue was reported yesterday and only affects the full installer for Windows of HyperSpy version 0.6 when installing in certain customized locations. This issue should be rare but, if you have installed this version of HyperSpy in Windows, please read this before uninstalling HyperSpy 0.6.
This is a very serious issue and we deeply apologize for it.
We do not request an email address to download HyperSpy and, therefore, we have no means to address our users other that the website and the mailing list. Therefore, please spread the word: if you know someone who is using HyperSpy in Windows please warn them about this issue and advice them to read carefully the online instructions before taking any action.
