Hey,

is there a way to remove the background from a spectrum (not using a model) using only the command line? Currently it is possible to use s.remove_background through a GUI, and looking at the code it doesn't seem to be a way to specify the background range without the GUI.

If it is not possible to do this, I'll try to implement it in similar way as s.crop_spectrum and m.fit_component.

Hi Magnus,

No, there is no way to do it using the command line atm -- shameful for Hyperspy, isn't it? That's what happen when your first design goal is a GUI --, but I agree that it'll be very nice to have it.

Actually, if I remember well, remove_background unecessarily iterates over the whole navigation space, what can be pretty slow when dealing with big datasets.

Btw, I'll try to find some time today to have a look at your latest contributions.

Francisco
