Position: Hadoop Administrator

Location: New York NY 10017

Client: NBC UNIVERSAL

Experience Required: 6 to 10 years

Description/Comment:

·         Installation and configuration of Hadoop core components like HDFS, YARN and other services within Hadoop Ecosystems such as HIVE, Zookeeper, Spark, Kafka, Impala etc.,

·         Configuration and maintenance of Hadoop Daemons like the Name node, Standby node, Data node, Resource Manager and the Node Manager.

·         Hadoop cluster capacity planning, performance tuning, cluster monitoring, troubleshooting, understanding of systems capacity, bottlenecks and basics of memory, CPU, OS, storage and networks.

·         Adding/removing new nodes to an existing Hadoop cluster.

·         Hands on experience in analyzing Log files for Hadoop and eco system services and finding root cause.

·         Performance tuning of Hadoop clusters, ecosystem components and jobs. This includes the management and review of Hadoop log files.

·         Commissioning and decommissioning the data nodes in the existing cluster

·         Hands-on experience with Hive, Spark, Impala and similar tools for SQL-like exploration of large-scale data sets.
