Hello Hypercubists,

Yesterday I finally solved the 3x4x4x4 hypercuboid in MPUlt with 3.555 twists. You will find my solution .log file in the attachment.

This puzzle consists of two 4x4x4 and six 3x4x4 cells. Most of my sequences were created in the view where one of the six 3x4x4 cells was in the center of the screen (in the Top position).

My solution method was the same as always - working from inside out (from the 1-coloured pieces to the 4-coloured pieces) but this time I haven't created algs to solve the 1-coloured pieces, I solved them intuitively.
Also, I managed to pair almost all the 2-coloured pieces the same way as we create the 2x2 centers on a regular 4x4x4 Rubik's cube. To solve the last couple of 2-coloured pieces I created only the following 4 algs:

1a) FACE 3-CYCLE - type 1 (this alg is created in the 4x4x4 view)

1b) FACE 3-CYCLE - type 2

1c) FACE 2-SWAP

1d) FACE FLIP

As for the 3- and 4-coloured pieces I created the following algs...

2a) EDGE 3-CYCLE - type 1

2b) EDGE FLIP - type 1

2c) EDGE 3-CYCLE - type 2

2d) EDGE 2-SWAP (this alg is created in the 4x4x4 view)

2e) EDGE FLIP - type 2

2f) EDGE TWIRL

3a) CORNER 3-CYCLE

3b) CORNER TWIRL

This was, so far, the most exciting puzzle I have ever solved. And also the last one from this session
as I now completed all cuboids between 2x2x2x2 and 4x4x4x4.

In the future I will probably continue solving more 5D puzzles... but now I need some pause. :)

Who else is using MPUlt to solve cuboids?

Happy hypercubing!

Best regards,
~Adrian

Congratulations Adrian!

That's quite an impressive body of work. Not only did you explore the entire space, but you left behind a clear road map for others to study and follow. Even as a passive viewer, it's made it a lot of fun for me to follow your progress.

I hope you enjoy your well-earned break and keep us informed of your future hyperspace explorations.

Happy Hypercubing!

Congratulations Adrian!

Happy to hear you  enjoyed this last one.
I think 3334 was my favourite.

Well done!
Emanuele
