Hello Hypercubists,
I switched to a higher gear lately and after two days of my last post I'm proud to announce that today I successfully managed to solve the 3x3x4x4 "tower-type" hypercuboid in MPUlt with 4.135 twists. You can find my solution .log file in the attachment.
This puzzle consists of four 3x3x4 and four 3x4x4 cells. Both cell types allow some 90° twists but most of the time you can operate with 180° twists. In my solution I created all the algs in the 3x3x4 cell in the Top position (in the center of the screen).
Here comes the different cases that I had to solve:
1a) CENTER 3-CYCLE
1b) "TRICKY" CENTER 3-CYCLE
This is a very tricky case because it seems like a two-swap:
... but actually this is also a 3-cycle if you make the corresponding 2-coloured face stickers visible:
2a) FACE 3-CYCLE - type 1
2b) FACE 3-CYCLE - type 2
2c) "TRICKY" FACE 3-CYCLE
This is a very tricky case because it seems like a two-swap:
... but actually this is also a 3-cycle if you make the corresponding 3-coloured edge stickers visible:
3a) EDGE 3-CYCLE - type 1
3b) EDGE FLIP
3c) EDGE 3-CYCLE - type 2
4a) CORNER 3-CYCLE
4b) CORNER FLIP
This was, again, a very exciting puzzle to solve. The last one for me in this session will be the 3x4x4x4.
Who else is using MPUlt to solve cuboids?
Happy hypercubing!
Best regards,
~Adrian
