Hello Hypercubists,
A couple of days ago I successfully solved the 2x2x3x4 brick-type hypercuboid in MPUlt with 1.282 twists. You can find my .log file attached to this email.
It is a very interesting puzzle because it has 3 different views (either 2x3x4 or 2x2x4 or 2x2x3 in the center) which makes a lot of different 3D algorithms possible to execute on this cube.
The first challenge is to solve the 2-colored face pieces of the 2x3x4 cells. (Hint: Create algs for the faces with 2x2x4 in the center.)
1) FACE 3-CYCLE
2) FLIP 2 FACES
When the faces are done, for the edges and the corners you can create the appropriate algorithms by having either the 2x2x4 or the 2x2x3 cell in the center.
3) EDGE 3-CYCLES
4) FLIP 2 EDGES
5) CORNERS 3-CYCLE
On this puzzle you don't need to twirl edges or corners. I'm pretty excited if those twirls are possible on the next cube I will solve: 2x3x3x4.
Who else is using MPUlt to solve cuboids?
Happy hypercubing!
Best regards,
~Adrian
