Hello Hypercubists,
I'm glad to announce that I successfully solved the 2x3x4x4 hypercuboid in MPUlt with 1.720 twists. You can find my .log file in the attachment.
This puzzle consists of four 2x3x4, two 2x4x4 and two 3x4x4 cells. While the 2x4x4 and the 3x4x4 cells allow 90° twists, on the 2x3x4 cells you can perform 180° twists only.
That is why I used either the 2x4x4 or the 3x4x4 cells to create my algorithms. (Those gives more freedom of twists.)
Solving the one-colored center stickers in the two 3x4x4 cells is very easy, you can do it intuitively with maximum 3 twists.
As for the rest of the stickers, you will need the following algs...
1a) FACE SWAP - type 1 (Up-Down)
1b) FACE SWAP - type 2 (Up-Down)
1c) FACE SWAP - complete (Up-Down)
1d) FACE SWAP - it actually swaps 2-2 pcs, 4 stickers in total (Front-Back-Right)
1e) FACE SWAP - complete (Front-Back)
2a) EDGE 3-CYCLE - type 1 (Front-Back-Right)
If you do some preliminary moves, you can create the following commutator type (A B A' B') algs
to seperately move the left or the right sticker of these edges!
2b) "LEFT" EDGE 3-CYCLE (Front-Back-Right)
2c) "RIGHT" EDGE 3-CYCLE (Front-Back-Right)
2d) EDGE 3-CYCLE - type 2
2e) EDGE FLIP (on the Right cell)
3) CORNER 3-CYCLE
The next puzzle for me will be the 3x3x3x4. :)
Who else is using MPUlt to solve cuboids?
Happy hypercubing!
Best regards,
~Adrian
