Using the "Insert Link" option when adding a media object

Hi.
So instead of working in Firefox, I’ve tried the same process of
creating a link to a NY Times article using HC in Google Chrome, which
our IT specialist installed on my machine last week, and I
unfortunately continue to get no result: The hyperlink that I create
in the add object text editor using the “Insert Link” option (and
where I copy the URL) does not lead one to the web page when one
clicks on it, even though everything seemed to work okay through the
process of getting the "Object successfully saved" message. In HC when
I hover over the hyperlink I’ve created in that media object, I see
the desired URL; I just don’t get a response when I click on it, even
after waiting several minutes.
Thanks for any suggestions on how I might make this seemingly basic
operation work!
