Hello,

I am attempting to embed an interactive map into my post under my
Evolution of Broadway collection. The object that I want to embed is a
".aspx" file, and does not contain and embed code. When i paste the
link of the site into the post under html, it does not show up as
anything other than just the link itself. The link of the map that I'm
trying to post is http://www.nyc.com/maps/broadway.aspx. How can I
embed this aspx file into my post in order to make the interactive map
show up?

Regards,
Ariella Levian

Hi Arellia,

I'm afraid it's not possible to embed an ASPX file in HyperCities. An aspx file like this is a complete webpage. What you can embed in HyperCities (or any webpage, really) is either movies, sound, or images. HTML just doesn't allow embedding another complete webpage. What I would suggest doing, then, is just putting in the link and directing your users to it. I'm sorry; I don't think there's really another way.

Hi Arelia,

Actually, I take that back--there is a way. You need to use an HTML tag called an iframe. Try this: <iframe src="http://www.nyc.com/maps/broadway.aspx"></iframe>. Please let me know if that doesn't work.

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

I inserted the iframe that you told me to in the post but for some
reason instead of showing up as the interactive map, it shows up as a
different part of the website. This method doesn't seem to have worked
properly. Any other suggestions for me or do you think it's
impossible?

Regards,
Ariella

Strange. Which part of the website does it show up as? A different page? Can you post a screenshot here, or email one to me privately if that doesn't work?
