Hi,

Today I came through your fantastic project Hypercities. I spent some
time to understand the functionalilty but - up to now - I could not
figure out how I can change the icon of the markers. Finally, I
recognized that there are "advanced settings" for each objects.
Unfortunately, there are no options to change. I only got a check box
which says "is Hidden?"

II would really appreciate any kind of help because I look forward to
use Hypercitites for my Phd-thesis.

Many thanks in advance for your answer.

yours

f.

Hi Frank,

I'm afraid there isn't a way of changing the icon in HyperCities
itself yet. We're working on this feature now. What we recommend is
that you start by creating your map in Google Earth, setting the icons
there, and then uploading the KML file to HyperCities. That will
preserve the icons, as long as they're hosted on a server somewhere.

The "is Hidden" checkbox is for hiding the marker. It's useful if you
select other objects to be on while your object is on.

Thank you very much for your answer; The problem is that I am working
on Berlin between 1890 and 1933. Unfortunately there is no historical
map for google earth. So I could not mark precicely (e.g. because of
different street names and -pathways.

If I understand you correctly, I also can go on, using Hypercities and
change selected icon markers if you finished your work on this
feature, right?

Yes, though that feature would require editing kml files.

Once you create an object in Google Earth and import the KML to
HyperCities, though, you can move its location. So if you wanted to
create a map on a modern map and then fine-tune it in HyperCities when
you have access to a historic map, that's an option.
