The easiest way is to click start>run enter "cmd" without the quotes and hit enter. This will open a command prompt which you can then run "ipconfig" in without the quotes.

Your IP will be listed here.

ah ok thank you!

But now when i try to connect to the server it won't work. my smartphone is connected to wi-fi signal, and my PC is connected to ethernet cord. But when I try to connect to the server on my smartphone it asks if the server is open (which it is, all the information i put in when i made the server is the same as what i put in my smartphone). It won't even count down from 20, it only counts down when im connected to my 3G.

What game are you trying to use this with? If SWTOR, can you make sure the class name and window title fields are empty in the server?

I'm not certain whether the error message you are getting is "couldn't detect swtor client" in which case you are connected to the server and may need to do the above.

Otherwise can you show me the IP and subnet on your pc (from ipconfig) as well as the IP and subnet of your phone when connected to wifi (from wireless settings and tapping on your access point name).

Yes I am trying to connect to SWTOR. and the class name and window fields are empty.

One error message is "server could not be reached after 20 seconds. Check your network."

The other one is: "Could not connect to server, are you sure it's running?" which it is running, and my phone is connected to Wi-Fi.

The IP addresses I see on my PC are:
IPv4 Address 192.168.0.101
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

the IP on my phone is:
192.168.0.103

Possible problems you could be having are:
1. Configuration is incorrect.  You may have typed the IP address or port number incorrectly in the app
2. The app or port is being blocked by a firewall.  Make sure the app is on the inclusion list or try temporarily disabling your software firewalls to test.  Note you may have more than 1 firewall running like windows firewall plus some net protection software, McAfee, Norton etc.
3. Your WiFi router may not be configured to allow routing between wireless and wired zones.  In this case you need to enable routing between zones on the router.
