Score Poetry Explication Use of Medium Presentation Skills
High
• Explication of poem is thorough, identifying and explaining all (or nearly all) of the poet’s literary devices.
• Color, graphics, animation, and theme are creative and aid in explication of the poem.
• Presentation is well- rehearsed and engages the audience.
Medium
• Explication of poem is adequate, identifying and explaining the most prominent of the poet’s literary devices.
• Color, graphics, and animation are clear and do not distract the audience from the explication of the poem.
• Presentation is well- rehearsed.
Low
• Explication of poem is inadequate, identifying and explaining only a few of the poet’s literary devices.
• Color, graphics, and/or animation are difficult to read and distract the audience slightly from the explication of the poem.
• Presentation is not well- rehearsed and is difficult for the audience to follow.
Not Acceptable
• Explication of poem is limited only to identifying one or two the poet’s literary devices.
• Color, graphics, and animation are terribly distracting and/or inappropriate.
• Presentation is not well- rehearsed enough to deliver on time. (Teacher must stop presentation and request student(s) to deliver at a later date.)
