OK -- this is what happened

A tech was installing the SSL certificate, so the facebook app will work correctly. He realized that the server IP was shared and needed to be dedicated, so he simply changed it. He did not tell me he was changing it, nor did he tell me that the site would then appear to be down for 2-12 hours while the IP change propagates across the web. So sorry for one more session of downtime, but I do believe we are going to be in a stable place very soon (I really really hope so). Thanks for your patience everyone.
