Hydventura is planning an adventurous monsoon trek to not-so-popular Siddhagad and Gorakhgad forts, via famous Ahupe ghat over a span of 3 days (August 15th – 16th – 17th) near Kalyan, Maharashtra.

Ahupe ghat is basically a pass which starts from Khopivali in the Konkan to Ahupe Village in the ghats. Ahupe Village is at the height of 3855 feets. The Ghat drops vertically to the Konkan all around the Ahupe Plateau. The view from the Ahupe Plateau must be one of the most enchanting and mesmerizing experience. Lush Greenery with deep valley and waterfalls all around.

The magical beauty of Twin Mountains of Machindergad and Gorakhgad can steel your heart. If you are there at the top during early hours of the day one can see amazing view of valley and plateau bathed in clouds.

Siddhagad fort is old age hill fort established by Shilahaar royal family in 9th century. The Central top of this fort is also exciting and tough to climb, must visit this fort in winter and summer. This hill fort had tallest hight to climb in all forts in Maharashtra is about 910 meters.

The plan goes like this

14th August: [Thursday]

1. 14:45 hrs: Train to Kalyan, Maharashtra. (This train will pass through Pune @ 1:00 AM, folks joining from Pune need to board the train with us, till Kalyan)

15th August: [Friday]

1. 03:47 hrs: Reach Kalyan. Some freshen up there, if required.
2. 04:00 hrs: Board the local transport booked there.
3. 06:00 hrs: Reach the base location, Murbad Village, in the booked vehicle. Freshen up here.
4. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast time.
5. 08:30 hrs: Start to the Ahupe ghat base village in jeep.
6. 09:00 hrs: Trek starts to awesome Ahupe Top.
7. 13:00 hrs: Reach Ahupe ghat top, have some rest here, enjoy the views and have packed lunch.
8. 14:00 hrs: Continue the trekking towards the Siddhigad Wadi village for night stay.
9. 17:00 hrs: Reach to Siddhigad Wadi. Have hot tea here.
10. 19:00 hrs: Prepare for night stay, in the village.
11. 20:00 hrs: Dinner time.
12. 20:30 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.

16th August: [Saturday]

1. 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up.
2. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast time.
3. 08:00 hrs: Start trekking towards the mighty Siddhagad.
4. 13:00 hrs: Have lunch somewhere on the way.
5. 14:00 hrs: Continue trekking towards the Gorakhgad fort, after the lunch.
6. 17:00 hrs: Reach at the very top of the Gorakhgad fort. Enjoy the views with tea here.
7. 19:00 hrs: Prepare for night stay, in the village.
8. 20:00 hrs: Dinner time.
9. 20:30 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.

17th August: [Sunday]

1. 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up.
2. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast time.
3. 08:00 hrs: Start trekking towards the Gorakhgad fort.
4. 12:00 hrs: Reach at the base of Gorakhgad fort, and travel to Murbad in jeep.
5. 13:00 hrs: Reach Murbad, and have lunch here.
6. 13:30 hrs: Start to Kalyan in booked vehicle.
7. 15:30 hrs: Reach Kalyan Station.
8. 16:00 hrs: Board the train back to Hyderabad.

18th August: [Monday]

1. 07:00 hrs: Reach Hyderabad.




Things to carry:
1. Rucksack/ backpack.
2. Sleeping bag.

3. Shoes with good grip.

4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry.

5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night.

6. Torch.

7. Water Bottle min (2 lt)

8. Toilet kit

9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL

10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need.

11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one.

12. Carry Identification card.


Note:

1. Pl. do not expect any luxury during the Trip. This is an exploratory trek, and we expect things to go wrong.
2. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers.
3. Strictly no plastics to be thrown.
4. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well.
5. Last date for nomination is 7th July by 4:00 PM (Strictly). Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen].
6. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
