Hi Friends,   Hydventura is planning a beautiful and amazing  trek to FROZEN ZANSKAR RIVER over a span of 11 days (January 15th – 26th) near Leh.   The Chadar Trek or the Zanskar Gorge is a winter-trail in Zanskar region of Ladakh, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Its walls are near vertical cliffs up to 600 m high and the Zanskar River (a tributary of the Indus) is only 5 m wide in places. The Chadar Trek is the frozen Zanskar River which provides an access route to the Zanskar Valley and is used as a trail by locals and tourists during the winters.           Chadar trek is one of the most thrilling and adventurous trek in India in the local language “chadar” means blanket. The                                      chadar trek is basically performed on a frozen river called the “Zanskar River”, during the summer this river doesn’t disappoint                its enthusiastic tourist as it becomes a perfect location for river rafting expedition and during the winters it transforms into an ice sheet where the famous Chadar trek is performed.   The plan goes like this   15th January [Friday] – Travel to Delhi, from your respective locations.   16th January [Saturday] – Reach Leh. (The only way to reach Leh at this time of year is by flight.)   17th January [Sunday] – Acclimatization at Leh. Visit some of the tourist destinations of Leh, and shop for the essentials/personal stuff, if you need any.   18th January [Monday] – Travel from Leh to Chilling, by the booked vehicle. Start the trek to Zaribago.   19th January [Tuesday] – Trek to Deepyokma from Zaribago.   20th January [Wednesday] – Trek to Nyrakpulu from Deepyokma.   21th January [Thursday] – Trek to Lingshed from Nyarakpulu. Visit the monastery.   22th January [Friday] – Start back to Nyarakpulu.   23th January [Saturday] – Trek to Tsomopaldar from Nyarakpulu.   24th January [Sunday] – Trek to Tilatdo from Tsomopaldar.   25th January [Monday] – Trek to Chiling from Tilatdo. Travel back to Leh, in booked vehicle.          26th January [Tuesday] – Back to Delhi, and then to your respective locations.        Things to carry:       1. Rucksack/ backpack.       2. Sleeping bag.       3. Shoes with good grip.       4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry.       5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night.       6. Torch.       7. Water Bottle min (2 lt)       8. Toilet kit       9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL       10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need.       11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one.       12. Carry Identification card.         Note: Pl. do not expect luxury during the Trip. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers. Strictly no plastics to be thrown. 4.    One has to carry their luggage on their own. We will make separate arrangements for kitchen items, ration, tents and SBs. If one needs a porter, he/she has to ask for it specifically well in advance, and have to pay additionally for that. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well. Last date for nomination is 15h October by 4:00 PM (Strictly).  Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen] 7.       The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies and your personal clothings, from Leh to Leh. One has to bear their own travel cost to Leh & back (the only way to reach Leh at that time will be by flight, so book as early as possible).
