Hi Friends,   Hydventura is planning a trek through forests/mud over a span of 2 days (August 15 – 16). Meghane is one of the highest peaks in the Sharavathi valley and has one of the high densities of fauna in the Sharavathi wild life sanctuary.   Trekking was banned here till recently because of a serious poaching problem. This peak is an awesome place to sit and enjoy nature. In one direction you can see the Arabian sea, and in all the other sides, lush greenery.   The plan goes like this   14th August: [Friday]         For Hyderabad Folks: 18:00 hrs: Bus to Bhatkal.         For Bangalore Folks: 1.       20:00 hrs: Start to Nagavalli, in booked transport.   15th August: [Saturday]         For Hyderabad Folks: 05:00 hrs: Reach Bhatkal. 05:30 hrs: Start to Nagavalli – by Bus/Jeep/Local taxi         For All: 07:00 hrs: Reach Nagavalli. Breakfast & freshen up. 08:00 hrs: Start  trek up the Meghane Hill. 13:00 hrs: Have packed lunch on the way, continue the climb after that. 16:00 hrs: Reach on the top of Meghane Hill, & rest/click/enjoy over there. 17:00 hrs: Trek down the hill, reach an Onti Mane (single hamlet) and stay overnight. 19:30 hrs: Dinner time. 20:00 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.   16th August: [Sunday]          For All: 05:00 hrs: Wake up call. Freshen up & breakfast. 06:00 hrs: Start  trek to waterfall. 08:30 hrs: Reach waterfall, & spend some time over there. 10:00 hrs: Trek to Hogevaddi, lunch on the way. 16:00 hrs: Reach Hogevaddi, and finish the trek.         For Hyderabad Folks: 16:30 hrs: Travel to Bhatkal in some vehicle (bus/jeep/taxi). 18:00 hrs: Reach Bhatkal. 19:00 hrs: Board bus to Hyderabad.         For Bangalore Folks: 16:30 hrs: Board the booked vehicle, and start to Bangalore.   17th August: [Monday] 06:00 hrs: Reach Hyderabad/Bangalore.         Things to carry:       1. Rucksack/ backpack.       2. Sleeping bag.       3. Shoes with good grip.       4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry.       5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night.       6. Torch.       7. Water Bottle min (2 lt)       8. Toilet kit       9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL       10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need.       11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one.       12. Carry Identification card.         Note: Pl. do not expect luxury during the Trip. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers. Strictly no plastics to be thrown. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well. Last date for nomination is 10th July by 4:00 PM (Strictly).  Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen] The possibility of rains is very high (this is a monsoon trek, correct? J) so please be prepared to get soaked! Sleeping bag is a must. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
