Hi Friends,   Hydventura is planning a scenic trek to Sandhan Valley & Karoli ghat over a span of 2 days (January 3rd – 4th) near Pune, Maharashtra.   Sandhan valley is known Wonder of nature & splendid of Sahyadri (Western Ghats). Water carved valley of 200 ft deep and about 1.5 long. Sandhan valley is located on the west side of beautiful Bhandardara region, near Samrad village. Valley surrounded with mighty Alang, Madan & Kulang (Known as AMK- toughest trek in Sahyadri) Ratangad, Ajoba & Kalsubai  mountain ranges. Brilliant & deep narrow rock floored ravine between the two high walls of mountain range. At some places its width is less than 3 ft so that at some places sun rays unable to reach. So it’s called valley of shadow.   You can enter in Sandhan valley but it is accessible throughout the year except monsoon. To go at end side of gorge you have cross 2-3 water pools, water level changes according to seasons, in winter it is up to waist & in summer it is up to knee height. At the end of valley you get magnificent view of high cliffs & deep valleys.     The plan goes like this   2nd January: [Friday] 14:45 hrs: Train to Pune, Maharashtra.    3rd January: [Saturday] 01:10 hrs: Reach Pune. Some freshen up there, if required. 01:30 hrs: Board the local transport booked there. 06:00 hrs: Reach the base location, Samarth Village, in the booked vehicle. Freshen up here. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast time. 08:00 hrs: Start trekking/rapelling to gigantic Sandhan Valley. (There are three small rappelling patches to reach the base) 13:00 hrs: Lunch on the way. 17:00 hrs: Reach the bottom of the valley. Enjoy in the natural swimming pools, with floating water, non-swimmers too can chill out in them ;) 19:00 hrs: Prepare for night stay, under the stars. 20:00 hrs: Dinner time. 20:30 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.           4th January: [Sunday] 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast. 07:30 hrs: Start trek to Karoli ghat. 12:00 hrs: Reach Samarth Village, have a refreshing swim in Ghatghar dam. 13:00 hrs: Have the lunch at Samarth Village. 14:00 hrs: Start to Pune, in booked vehicle. 19:00 hrs: Reach Pune Station. 19:05 hrs: Board the train back to Hyderabad.   5th January: [Monday] 07:50 hrs: Reach Hyderabad.         Things to carry: 1. Rucksack/ backpack. 2. Sleeping bag. 3. Shoes with good grip. 4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry. 5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night. 6. Torch. 7. Water Bottle min (2 lt) 8. Toilet kit 9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL 10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need. 11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one. 12. Carry Identification card.   Note: Pl. do not expect any luxury during the Trip. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers. Strictly no plastics to be thrown. This Trip is open for Non-CTS folks as well. Last date for nomination is 28th November by 4:00 PM (Strictly).  Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen]. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
