Hi Friends,   Hydventura is planning an thrilling trek to Kumar Parvata aka Pushpagiri over a span of 3 days (October 2nd – 4th), near Bangalore, Karnataka.   Pushpagiri or Kumara Parvatha, at 1,712 metres (5,617 ft), is the highest peak in Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. It is located in the Somwarpet Taluk, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Somwarpet in the northern part of Kodagu district. This mountain is on the border between Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts.   The plan goes like this   1st October: [Thursday] 1.       20:00 hrs: Train to Bangalore, Karnataka.   2nd October: [Friday] 1.       06:30 hrs: Reach Bangalore. Some freshen up there, if required. 2.       07:00 hrs: Board the local transport booked there, & start for Kukke – Subramanya. Breakfast on the way. 3.       12:00 hrs: Reach Kukke. Have lunch here, also get some packed food for night. 4.       14:00 hrs: Start trekking to Bhatru-Manne. 5.       18:00 hrs: Reach at Bhatru-Manne. Prepare for the night stay. 6.       18:30 hrs: Explore the place, with help of torches. 7.       20:00 hrs: Finish exploration, come back to camping site. Dinner time. 8.       21:00 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.   3th October: [Saturday] 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast. 08:00 hrs: Start trek to Kumar Parvata Peak. Enjoy the views on the way. 15:00 hrs: Reach at the top of the peak. Have lunch enroute. 15:30 hrs: Find a suitable place to pitch tents, & prepare for night stay. 16:00 hrs: Explore the place, & capture the awesome views in your camera. 18:00 hrs: Freshen up, & prepare for the night stay. 20:00 hrs: Dinner time (packed food from the town). 21:00 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.   4th October: [Sunday] 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up. 06:30 hrs: Breakfast. 07:00 hrs: Start trek to Somwarpet. 12:00 hrs: Reach Somwarpet. Have lunch there. 13:00 hrs: Start to Bangalore, in booked vehicle. 20:00 hrs: Reach Bangalore Station. have dinner here, or in train. 20:50 hrs: Board the train back to Hyderabad.   5th October: [Monday] 08:00 hrs: Reach Hyderabad.         Things to carry:       1. Rucksack/ backpack.       2. Sleeping bag.       3. Shoes with good grip.       4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry.       5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night.       6. Torch.       7. Water Bottle min (2 lt)       8. Toilet kit       9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL       10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need.       11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one.       12. Carry Identification card.         Note: Pl. do not expect luxury during the Trip. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers. Strictly no plastics to be thrown. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well. Last date for nomination is 8th August by 4:00 PM (Strictly).  Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen] The possibility of rains is very high (this is a monsoon trek, correct? J) so please be prepared to get soaked! Sleeping bag is a must. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
