Hi Friends,

Hydventura is planning water fall trip over a span of 2 days (June 07th and 08th ) near Udupi Karnataka.

Kudlu Theertha waterfall is situated about 42 kms away from Udupi, amidst deep jungles of Western Ghats, close to Hebri town. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls by any standards. With a height of about 300 feet, it falls directly into a pond which is considered holy by local people, because, sages meditated here thousands of years ago. A visit to Kudlu Theertha will provide an opportunity to be with the nature.

Situated near the banks of river Sita, Kudlu falls is becoming more and more popular among trekkers. Kudlu falls is a very beautiful spot amidst the forest and mountains of Kudlu. Reaching Kudlu falls is not easy as one may have to walk their way through difficult terrain. It looks as if it is meant for the those who love trekking.

Some sources claim Kunchikal Falls, formed by Varahi River in the hill ranges of Agumbe as the tallest waterfall in India and is even taller than Jog Falls. Kunchikal Falls is a cascading waterfall near Agumbe in Shimoga district of state of Karnataka. It is the highest waterfall in India (1,493 feet). The river Varahi takes its birth at a height of 730 m in the Western Ghats at Hebbagilu, near Agumbe in Shimoga District. It joins the Arabian Sea near Kundapur. After a 25 Km initial run, this swift and powerful river falls 455 m in cascades to form the bellowing Kunchikal falls. R K Narayan’s classic tale ‘Malgudi Days’ was entirely shot here.

Kunchikal falls is not just higher than the famous Jog falls but is also surrounded by many other small waterfalls. The most important feature of these falls is, that they are primary source of hydroelectric projects operating in Karnataka. One can notice South Canara forest from here and also the beautiful Barkana falls.

Please note:
• HydVentura is an unofficial Adventure club initiated by a few likeminded folks from the Infosys- Hyderabad DC . Infosys is in no way related to the activities being organized by the club .

• Your friends or team mates in Infosys who wish to join the group can send an email to me to get added in the distribution list (DL). Non-Infoscions can register themselves in the website mentioned above.

• At any point of time if you want your name to be removed from the DL, kindly drop in a mail to me but not to the DL.

• Please update Infy wiki @ http://wiki/Travel with the places that you have been to or aware of, which will provide us more options to organize in coming months.
