Hydventura is planning an adventurous monsoon trek to Bhimashankar through the green Ahupe Ghat, over a span of 2 days (August 23rd – 24th) near Kalyan, Maharashtra.

Ahupe ghat is basically a pass which starts from Khopivali in the Konkan to Ahupe Village in the ghats. Ahupe Village is at the height of 3855 feets. The Ghat drops vertically to the Konkan all around the Ahupe Plateau. The view from the Ahupe Plateau must be one of the most enchanting and mesmerizing experience. Lush Greenery with deep valley and waterfalls all around.

Bhimashankar Temple is a Jyotirlinga shrine located 50 km northwest of Khed, near Pune, in India. It is located 127 km from Shivaji Nagar (Pune) in the Ghat region of the Sahyadri hills. Bhimashankar is also the source of the river Bhima.

The plan goes like this

22nd August: [Friday]

1. 14:45 hrs: Train to Kalyan, Maharashtra. (This train will pass through Pune @ 1:00 AM, folks joining from Pune need to board the train with us, till Kalyan)

23rd August: [Saturday]

1. 03:47 hrs: Reach Kalyan. Some freshen up there, if required.
2. 05:00 hrs: Take the public transport to reach the base village Khopibali, via Murbad.
3. 08:00 hrs: Reach Khaopivali, and have breakfast here.
4. 09:00 hrs: Trek starts to awesome Ahupe Top.
5. 14:00 hrs: Reach Ahupe ghat top, have some rest here, enjoy the views and have packed lunch.
6. 15:00 hrs: Continue the trekking towards Bhimashankar.
7. 19:00 hrs: Reach to Kudpan Village, and finish trekking for the day.
8. 19:00 hrs: Prepare for night stay, in the village.
9. 20:00 hrs: Dinner time.
10. 20:30 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.

24th August: [Sunday]

1. 05:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up.
2. 06:00 hrs: Breakfast time.
3. 06:30 hrs: Start trekking towards Bhimashankar.
4. 09:00 hrs: Reach Bhimashankar. Have some rest, and visit the temple.
5. 10:00 hrs: Continue trekking towards the Nagphani, and back.
6. 13:00 hrs: have lunch at Bhimashankar, and board the public transport to Pune/Mumbai.
7. 17:00 hrs: Reach Pune.
8. 19:00 hrs: Board the train back to Hyderabad.

25th August: [Monday]

1. 07:00 hrs: Reach Hyderabad.




Things to carry:
1. Rucksack/ backpack.
2. Sleeping bag.

3. Shoes with good grip.

4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry.

5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night.

6. Torch.

7. Water Bottle min (2 lt)

8. Toilet kit

9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL

10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need.

11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one.

12. Carry Identification card.


Note:

1. Pl. do not expect any luxury during the Trip. This is an exploratory trek, and we expect things to go wrong.
2. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers.
3. Strictly no plastics to be thrown.
4. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well.
5. Last date for nomination is 18th July by 4:00 PM (Strictly). Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen].
6. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
