Auto Click Bookmark

Braveautomatically opens all sites in the bookmark folder in group whenever the bookmark folder is left-clicked on. If the folder contains many sites bookmarked, open all of them in a time lead Brave to crash.

This was all done in a Test profile. It does have some extensions installed but I disabled all of them before this test; and this is repeatable in my main personal profile, as well as on 2 different Windows systems at work (granted, they are both on a sync chain together).

Okay I do apologize but I misunderstood the issue. This appears to be an issue related directly to the experimental Chromium Tab groups save feature. I was able to reproduce this in both Brave and Chrome, but I have a few notes here:

The code is very simple. It creates a timer that calls a function every 1 millisecond. That function finds the cookie element in the document and clicks it. If such an element does not exist, the timer terminates.2 The code also changes the time of the last click to beat the auto clicker detection.

This may be a very rookie error I am making, but my situation is this. I have successfully made a script that when entered into a Google Chrome bookmark, it will bring up a prompt box upon the user clicking on the bookmark. From there, after they hit enter, it brings said user to a list of search results. What I want to do is put another piece of code in this same bookmark so that it automatically clicks on the first result on the search results page after it loads. Any ideas?

I usually work with huge electric plans, 1000+ pages, so this would very quickly make the bookmark bar unreadable. Then I have to collapse it all, and then expand only the ones that I really want expanded.

The easy solution is to rapidly switch the navigation view off (X on the right of bookmarks pane) then use any other means of navigation such as scroll / keyboard then if you wish to again see bookmarks in that state use right click context menu or F12

I agree this is a problem. My document has a Chapter and when I go anywhere within the chapter the bookmark opens up to a huge list. It is cumbersome to scroll back up to where I can collapse it because the bookmark list is so long. It would be better to let the user do the expanding, as desired. I already posted my comment in the link you provided and I thank GitHubRulesOK for the prompt responses!

Left arrow works and makes it OK. For some reason I missed that in the keyboard controls, some of which seemed to have changed. I like that where you are in the expanded bookmarks now gets grayed according to where you are. Good improvement.

I like to add bookmarks by right-clicking on either the bookmark bar, or inside a bookmark folder and choosing "New Bookmark". This brings up a dialog box with various fields. In the past, the title and location fields were auto-filled using the title and location info from the active page/tab. Now, however, all of the fields are empty, making it practically impossible to use. How do I bring this functionality back?

I'm running Firefox 40.0.2 for Windows, and I have the Classic Theme Restorer extension installed. I've already looked at all of the Classic Theme Restorer options, and didn't see anything that would change/conflict with the add bookmark behavior.

You can click the star on the Navigation Toolbar once to bookmark the current tab and click the star another time to edit its properties.You can use "Bookmark This Page" in the right-click context menu of the web page to immediately get the dialog.

Thanks for the response, but this doesn't really answer my question or solve the problem. I knew about this functionality, but it doesn't achieve what I'm looking for. The problem is that double-clicking the star doesn't give any information to Firefox about where I want to store the bookmark. I know it's only one extra step to choose the location from within the bookmark options dialog, but its a step that is eliminated by using the context menu.

I like to first navigate to the the folder location where I want the bookmark kept, as this allows me to see other bookmarks in the folder. Then I right click, choose new bookmark, and have the name, location, and folder fields already complete. It's been a while since I used Firefox, but this was how it used to work, and it seems that this should be the default behavior for the "Add Bookmark" dialog.

It's not possible to "emulate" clicking a button using Acro JS. However, if the action associated with the button is to execute a script, you can place that code in a function at the doc-level and then just call it directly.

If the button does not run JavaScript, but runs some other Action instead, then a bookmark can be used as a proxy. There is no functionality in Acrobat JavaScript for forcing a button click, but there is for a bookmark click. Put the button action on a bookmark, then add JavaScript code to the Page Open script to run the bookmark after a delay.

Is there a way to auto-generate the same bookmarks for every PDF file that I build. I usually have the same bookmarks in the same order and with the same name for each bookmark and each PDF file. I find it cumbersome having to go through the documents in the PDF and have to add bookmark for each section that I want to use a bookmark for. I know you can auto-generate bookmarks but those are usually based on picking up key words in the document but that will not work here. Good example is every file has bookmark called Cash and underneath the bookmark is all the supporting documentation for cash. The same goes for receivables inventory Etc. Every file is the same. Just the documents change.

I guess I could take an existing PDF file that I have inserted and made all the bookmarks for and then delete all of the PDF pages and see if the bookmark tree on the left side is still there and then try to insert new documents under each bookmark.

The closest you can get here is going to the Page Layout tab, click on Bookmark, then click on Auto Build Bookmarks. The text there says it automatically builds bookmarks based on the styles and headings.

I had the same problem. Would have long reports that needed to be bookmarked section by section. Can solve the bookmark problem by using MS Word. I use Word 2016 but others are similar. Create your document text in Word. Add all the formatting lay out the document as you want to print it. Go to top heading line, to View - click Navigation Pane to open a side window. Window will probably be grey with no text. Click on Home tab. Be sure the Ribbon is showing. The Styles box shows Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, etc. This is a hierarchal order. Heading 1 is the top level style, followed by Heading 2, 3, 4.

Highlight the text you want to bookmark as Heading 1. In the Style box, R click on Heading 1. Dialog box will open. Select "Update Heading 1 to match selection". The text identified as Heading 1 will now appear in the Navigation Pane as the top level heading, and all text identified as Heading 1 will have similar formatting. Using the Format Painter, paint all text in the document you want to appear like Heading 1. All Heading 1 text will appear in the Navigation Pane.

Now do the same for Heading 2. Heading 2 will be second level text. Highlight the text you want for Heading 2. It should be formatted the way you want it to appear in the printed document. R click on Heading 2 in the Styles box on the Ribbon. Select "Update Heading 2 to match selection". The text identified as Heading 2 will now appear in the Navigation Pane as the next level heading, and all text identified as Heading 2 will have similar formatting. Using the Format Painter, paint all text in the document you want to appear like Heading 2. All Heading 2 text will appear in the Navigation Pane.

To create a PDF with bookmarks, start with the Word document. Select Export (instead of Print or Save As). Click Create PDF/XPS. Box opens, select Options... (grey box). Check box - Create bookmarks using Headings. Uncheck box - Document Properties. Click OK. Select Publish. PDF document opens. Click on Nitro bookmarks icon on L side. Bookmarks panel opens and shows all bookmarks created from Word Styles. Can modify bookmarks in Nitro. To open the document showing bookmarks, go to File - Document Properties. Select Initial View and use the drop down menu to select Bookmarks panel and page. Will show bookmarks on opening document.

When I close or exit from chrome, I want to save all the open tabs automatically to bookmarks(or something else); and when I re-open chrome, by clicking on the extension(or something else), I would like to open all the tabs that were saved in previous session when I had closed and when I close chrome again, I would like previous save session to be overwritten with current tabs.

It saves all opened windows and tabs in regular intervals and on window closing. Basically it makes snapshot of your opened windows and tabs and later you can browse all these snapshots and restore separate tabs or windows.

I usually have opened about 5 chrome windows, each with 20+ tabs and I use this extension as a safety net, in case I close some window I didn't want to close, or in case there is some problems with reopening where I left after reboot.

Every time I open a PDF file, the bookmarks panel is automatically displayed, and I have to take the extra step of closing it, because I do not use bookmarks. I see that there is an option to change how a particular PDF file opens, but most of the PDFs I work with are not saved, so I want to change the settings for Adobe so that it does NOT open every PDF with the bookmarks panel displayed. Please help!

Thank you, but that's not the solution I'm looking for. As I stated in my question, the problem is that most of the files I work with are not saved. For example, I usually get the file in an email, open it, read it, then close it, and never look at it again. So, most if not all of the PDF files I work with are never saved, and it doesn't do me any good to change that setting for each individual file. It just wouldn't make any sense. I'm guessing that this must be a default setting that Adobe has built into the program without thinking to give users the option to change it.
