Dear colleagues who use stable isotopes in hydrology, hydrogeology, and plant ecology,

Last week, the EU-funded WATSON COST Action had very successful meetings in Bratislava and online. We listened to interesting presentations, discussed the use of stable isotopes in Critical Zone studies, sampling protocols, models, and research gaps. We also decided on the next activities of the Action.

The Action opened a call for Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) and Virtual Meeting (VM) grants. These grants provide funding for young and more experienced researchers to visit another research institute or stakeholders in order to benefit from equipment, datasets, expertise and methods used by the host. The visit has to contribute to the objectives of WATSON and must be aligned to the objectives of one of the working groups of WATSON (https://watson-cost.eu/about/working-group/wg1-spatio-temporal-patterns-of-groundwater-recharge-and-soil-water-mixing-processes/). The deadline for application is August 1st, 2022. The earliest starting date of the (in person or virtual) mobility is September 1st. The visit must be completed before  October 1st, 2022.

Best regards,

The WATSON team
