Dear all,

We would like to invite you to submit your AGU24 abstracts to session "OS002-Advances in Flood Prediction and Risk Assessment in Coastal, Inland and Transition Zones"

This session welcomes studies that focus on four major topics:
  1. Innovative techniques, exploring cutting-edge works at the intersection of machine learning, cloud computing, geospatial, and open-source tools for improved storm surge modeling and compound coastal flood prediction.
  2. Evaluating the role of stressors such as climate change, urbanization, and land cover scenarios, and quantification of associated uncertainties in compound flooding.
  3. Utilizing computational and mathematical methods to analyze and address uncertainties inherent in flood prediction.
  4. Incorporating socio-economic impact assessments for coastal communities and economic infrastructure.

📌 Invited speakers: Dr. Hamid Moradkhani (University of Alabama); Dr. Katherine Brown (University of Texas at Austin/ University of Cambridge, UK)
📌 Submission deadline: July 31, 2024

We are looking forward to your submissions. Please feel free to forward this announcement to your colleagues who might be interested.

Sincerely,
On behalf of the conveners,
Fariborz Daneshvar (NOAA, National Ocean Service)
Atieh Alipour (NOAA, National Ocean Service)
Albert Cerrone (University of Notre Dame)
William Pringle (Argonne National Laboratory)
