It would be great if you could circulate the advert below to your students or other potentially interested people. The 10 PhD positions are very attractive with full positions for 4 years, located in Berlin/Potsdam, Germany. Deadline for the application is 23.8.24. 

PhD Projects particularly interesting for the hydrology community are the following:

ID 60027 - Global assessment of flood adaptation and risk through large language models and global open data - Heidi Kreibich (GFZ), Andrea Cominola (TU Berlin)

ID 60034 - Spatial climate variability patterns reconstructed with Bayesian Hierarchical Learning - Thomas Laepple, Tobias Krüger, Nadja Klein

The mission of  the Helmholtz Einstein International Berlin Research School in Data Science (HEIBRiDS) is to educate new generations of researchers, who, as skilled data scientists, understand the demands and the challenges of the disciplines in which data science has become indispensable. HEIBRiDS welcomes applications for PhD fellowships within a collaborative and inclusive research environment. HEIBRiDS projects foster the convergence of data science methodologies with applications in Molecular MedicineMaterials & EnergyEarth & Environment and Geosciences, encompassing topics in: Machine/Deep Learning, Explainable AI, Large Language Models, Mathematical/Statistical Modelling and Imaging.

We offer outstanding research and training opportunities in an international, diverse, inclusive and supportive environment. The working language of the program is English.
