I would like to invite you to attend the LE STUDIUM Conference entitled "Monitoring freshwater systems: from Earth Observation to field measurements", which will be held in Tours (France) on October 6 and 7, 2026.This conference will focus on recent advances in EO and field measurements of river systems. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the state of the art, address current scientific challenges and obstacles, and outline future developments related to the use of remote sensing data and its validation on the ground in river science.
The planned sessions will cover
- integration of EO with in-situ measurement systems
- definition of new monitoring services
- use of innovative sensors and EO data
- impact of EO advancements on environmental policies and management
The opportunity to demonstrate how EO plays a role in a wide range of topics will foster discussions among experts from different disciplines, thereby promoting collaborations to solve problems that require a trans- and interdisciplinary approach.
During the congress, we will bring together researchers and water managers from around the world, uniting leading teams working on EO technology and field measurements in fluvial systems, encompassing a broad range of research fields, from geophysics and geography to water resources management and land planning.
