Dear colleagues,

If you are working at the intersection of Processed-based Hydrologic/Hydraulic Modeling and Water Resources Management, please consider submitting an abstract to AGU24 Session H005 - Advancements in Process-based Hydrologic Modeling to Support Water Resources Management. We especially encourage submissions that explore traditionally neglected or over-simplified processes in the models. We also encourage submissions from students and early-career scholars.

Abstracts are due on July 31, 2024.

Process-based hydrologic modeling has been a cornerstone of water resources management since entering the scientific computing era. Recent advancements in high-performance computing, coupled with the increasing availability of high-resolution observational data, have unveiled exciting opportunities to reimagine the capabilities of process-based hydrologic modelingThis session focuses on the development of advanced modeling capabilities and applications that integrate a broad spectrum of hydrological processes within diverse ecosystems. We encourage submissions that explore processes often neglected or over-simplified in conventional hydrologic models, such as snow dynamics, plant functions, hillslope erosion, fluvial geomorphology, groundwater-surface water interactions, the influence of human activities, and others. Additionally, we welcome presentations on the integration of those processes through the development of fully-integrated,  physically-based models. By addressing these critical aspects, the session aims to further our understanding of the complex dynamics that govern hydrological systems and contribute to more effective water resource management strategies.
