We would like to invite to the 10th International Symposium on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) / 11th EGU Leonardo Symposium: Decision Support and Co-Design in Water Resources Systems - Empowering Local Voices in Global Frameworks.

 
The meeting will take place in Canberra, Australia from Wednesday, 9 Sep 2026, 6pm to Sunday, 13 Sep 2026, 5pm.

Key topics include (but are not limited to):
    • Synergies between First Nations and technological knowledge and science
    • Adaptive and resilient water systems design
    • Decision support and co-design tools
    • Local-global integration in water governance
    • Trade-offs and synergies across societal, environmental, and economic domains.

The symposium will foster critical discussions and knowledge exchange among researchers, practitioners, and policy actors, with a strong commitment to involving early-career scientists and participants from underrepresented regions.
The conference is eligible for SYSTA funding (Sivapalan Young Scientists Travel Award). An additional number of supports are available for early career scientists, thanks to IUGG and EGU, so please indicate your career status when submitting your abstract.

The Peter Loucks Lecture, celebrating outstanding contributions to the field of water resources assessment and management, will be given by Holger Maier (Adelaide University). Among invited speakers are: Prof. Junguo Liu (North China University of Water Resources and  Electric Power), Andrew McConville (CEO, Murray Darling Basin Authority), Prof. Troy Meston (Charles Sturt University, One Basin CRC), Prof. Bradley Moggridge (University of Technology Sydney), and Assoc. Prof. Sally Thompson (University of Western Australia).

    • 15 April – SYSTA Travel Grant Application deadline
    • 30 April – Notification of abstract acceptance
    • 15 May – Early bird registration deadline
