Returned from a few days away to discover a flurry of sad news about Gregg Houtz. Needless to say, its a terrible shock and serves as a reminder to us all how fragile life can be. I did not know Gregg outside of work, but I did have the opportunity to work closely with him on several power plant projects. He was always amicable and positive in our interactions, and went out of his way to keep me in the loop about decisions and machinations regarding these projects which were happening a few pay grades above my own. He did not have to make this effort but I found it to be a very respectful gesture toward the newbie- me. He will be missed, and I wish him and his family peace.
