Trihydro is accepting letters of interest for a Health & Safety Coordinator in the Health & Safety Team within the Operational & Service Excellence Programs Business Unit.
Position: Health & Safety Coordinator
Position Location: California (Signal Hill office preferred)
Experience: Qualified applicants must have a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Geology, or a related field and have at least three years of experience. Additionally, applicants must have proven technical writing, business development, project, client, and staff management skills, as well as a thorough understanding of corporate safety programs, familiarity with industrial facilities and field work requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully coordinate and/or manage health and safety aspects of assigned projects
- Provide routine status and communication updates to the Team Leader (TL) and Business Unit Manager (BUM)
- Assist the TL with health & safety training and mentoring of staff working on assigned projects
- Verify contracts, subcontracts and change orders are in-place, and commit to delivering quality services/products is on-time and with-in budget
- Coordinate and facilitate sharing of information, ideas, and experiences among projects within the Business Unit to provide consistency and promote efficiency
- Provide field and office support to projects, including program/project audits, safety meetings, preparing and providing QA/QC of technical documents and reports
- Assist with planning, developing and implementing safety training for staff and contractors
- Provide clear and comprehensive written and verbal communications
- Develop and support client relationships
- Work with team members and the TL to regularly evaluate equipment maintenance, condition, replacement, and upgrades
- Attend routine team meetings and provide regular communication to team personnel, the TL, BUM and BUL
- Customarily and regularly exercise independent judgment, including identifying measures for continuous program improvements
- Assist with overseeing administration for West Coast office to ensure offices meet safety standards and have adequate supplies
- Promote safety culture and safe work practices, including stewarding programs for the company, clients, and project sites
- Understand and follow company policies, procedures and guidelines, including H&S, HR, OSE, BD/M, RM, etc. as well as applicable client-specific programs
- Work with other BULs, TLs and managers to promote Health & Safety services and cross-share resources with other BU’s
This position will require field work as well as travel to project sites and other offices. The successful candidate will administer corporate safety programs, draft health & safety plans, and assist with OSHA compliance and safety audits under the supervision of the Health & Safety TL, the Health & Safety Programs BUM, and the Operational & Service Excellent Programs BUL. The responsibilities of this position will include supporting projects on the West Coast and may also include work at other locations.
