Hello colleagues,

I am excited to invite researchers, professionals, and students to submit abstracts for the following session in the upcoming EGU26 General Assembly, to be held on 3-8 May 2026 in Vienna, Austria:

Session: HS2.3.2 'Modelling techniques for quality monitoring of surface and subsurface waters in data-scarce environments'
Conveners: Bihu Suchetana, Saumava Dey, Sourav Hossain
Commencement of 'call-for-abstracts': 22 October 2025
Deadline for receipt of abstracts: 15 January 2026 (13:00 CET)

Surface and subsurface water quality modellers (including us) have long complained about the shortage of reliable, long-term datasets and benchmark problems. So, we decided to join forces to catalogue such challenges in our respective domains and discuss how scientifically robust workarounds need to be envisioned. We especially encourage submissions from the global South, where these data limitations are more pronounced.

Details of our session are available here: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU26/session/55973

In order to avail the Roland Schlich Travel Support for on-site participants, please submit your abstract before 01 December 2026 (13:00 CET). Details of other financial support and waiver opportunities are available here: https://www.egu26.eu/authors/financial_support_and_waivers.html

Regards,
Saumava
