Call for Abstracts – AGU25 Session on Machine Learning for Earth Science, Hydrology

We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract to our session at the 2025 AGU Fall Meeting (AGU25), which will be held in New Orleans, LA and online from 15–19 December 2025:

This session aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of machine learning (ML) and Earth science, with a focus on hydrology. We welcome contributions on:

• ML approaches for hydrological modeling, forecasting, and data assimilation

• Integration of satellite and in situ observations using AI/ML methods

• Uncertainty quantification and interpretability of ML models in Earth system applications

• AI-enhanced tools for flood detection, drought monitoring, or water resource management

• Physics-informed ML, hybrid models, or large language models applied to geoscience

Both in-person and online participation options are available. Oral or poster will be assigned by the AGU Program Committee after abstract review.

We encourage early career scientists, students, and researchers from underrepresented groups to submit their work. Please feel free to share this announcement with others who may be interested.
