2 post-doc positions at Sun Yat-sen University on vegetation response to snow, drought and climate change

We are pleased to advertise *2 two-year postdoc positions at the Sun Yat-sen University*, Centre for Water Resources and Environment, with an application deadline *31 May 2021*.

The successful candidate will work on *understanding vegetation response to snow and drought under a warming climate, using approaches of remote sensing, modelling, in-situ observations, or a combination of the three* over the Tibetan Plateau.

Qualifications: Applicants are expected to have *a doctoral degree in physical geography, GIScience, hydrology, ecology or similar relevant to the project and have completed this no longer than 3 years before the deadline of the application*.

Experience in remote sensing, or hydrological/climate/numerical modelling or working with reanalysis and climate model data is required. A good knowledge in climate change impacts on ecohydrological processes is expected. Good skills in statistical data analysis and scientific programming (R, Python, Matlab, or similar) are required. Good English language skills are expected. You are expected to disseminate results at international conferences and in leading scientific journals.

Remunerations and Benefits: The University provides researchers with competitive salaries, work allowance on Zhuhai Campus, annual merit pay, and other benefits, coupled with relocation allowance and relevant start-up funds. If qualified, researchers can apply for a three-year extension of contract as distinguished researcher or distinguished associate researcher, or apply for promotion to associate professor or professor position. Teaching staff and their families are offered with apartments for housing, sound medical services and educational resources supported by the University’s affiliated hospital and schools.
