Before you give the ELC control over your system, the basic settings should be correct.
Some possibilities to get power to the controller board, so you can check the settings:
  • A) Mains power
If you have mains power available, you can connect power directly to the AC connections of the ELC.
It doesn't matter if the mains power comes from the grid, a gasoline generator, or an inverter from DC to AC.

  • B) USB/Laptop
You can open the aluminum casing and connect a USB cable to the controller board.
NEVER connect USB and another power source at the same time - this can fry your USB port.
Not all laptops can provide enough current through USB to power the whole controller board. USB3 should definitely work. There alre also adapters, commonly for external hard drives, which bundle 2 USB ports in order to get double the current.
A USB power bank or power pack, commonly used to charge mobile phones, will also do the job.

  • C) 12V Battery
The controller board has a small power regulator on board, which can take between 7 - 12V DC. Unplug the SSR plug first, in order not to overload the regulator.
Connect the battery with a  2.1mm center-positive plug into the board's power jack.

  • D) Battery holder for 6 batteries.
This will give you 9V, if they are full. Make sure to unplug the SSR plug first, in order not to overload the regulator.
Connect the battery pack with a  2.1mm center-positive plug into the board's power jack.
