4 basic components needed:- turbine
- induction motor as generator
- capacitors
- IGC induction generator controller including dump loads
Additional installation parts like - axle coupling between turbine and generator, maybe pulley system or similar for adapting turbine speed to generator speed
- electrical parts like circuit breakers, residual current breaker, meters
Design considerations- choose optimum turbine for given head and flow
- choose nominal RPM of motor, so it matches turbine closely
- overrate generator, so it will survive moderate overspeed
- overrate dump loads, so system will survive some broken dump loads
