When trying to set up the touch ID it says I have reached the fingerprint limit. I have tried resetting SMC and all the other suggested in another trail. I even reinstalled the Mac OS. I never dropped the macbook nor spilled liquid in it. Is there anything else anyone can suggest to try to fix it before i bring it the the macstore? It was working fine until I decided I wanted to add a new fingerprint. Then I started to get the message about Fingerprint limit reached, and that was that, it stopped working.

Why did it work for a few hours and then i put it to sleep came back to it, and the fingerprint stopped working, when i tried to log in with it, it gave me the option but as i placed my finger on the button, it did not read it.
My question is, why did it work for a few hours after i reset the NVRAM? Could it be a system issue since it did work for a few hours. I was able to set up my fingerprint and used it a few times at restarting and entering passwords.

I'm experiencing a touch ID issue with my mac. Every time after an inactive session, its asking for pwd to enable touch ID. It was not like this before. A single touch of any keys on keyboard will wake the screen and touch ID will let me unlock the machine. But for the past two days, when i try to wake my scree after some inactive time, i see loading bar comes up for 10 secs and then login prompt comes out and asking for pwd. I even set as "NEVER" for pwd required after display is turned off.

When I close the lid and open it after few seconds, i see loading bar comes up and loads for 10 secs and then asking for password even though touch ID is in place.
